Article 1. Municipal Court
A municipal court of the city is hereby created and established to be presided over by a municipal judge.

The provisions of the Kansas Code of Procedure for Municipal Courts, being K.S.A. Ch. 12, Art. 41 to 46, inclusive, are by this reference incorporated into and made a part of this article, as if the same had been set out in full herein, except as provided herein.

The Municipal Judge shall hold court in a room to be supplied by the city and said court shall be held at a designated time between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on a weekday, except Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays.

(a) Any person found guilty of violating any provision of this code or ordinances of the city may be assessed court costs for the amount of any court reporter or stenographic charges, fees or mileage of witnesses, expenses incurred in the service of process, costs of publication of notices and such other charges as are authorized by the statutes of the state and, in addition thereto, court costs as set by the City Council.
(b) Pursuant to Art. 12, § 5, of the Kansas Constitution and notwithstanding the provisions of K.S.A. 12-4112, any person found guilty of violating any provision of ordinances of the city may be assessed court costs for the amount of any court reporter or stenographic charges, fees or mileage of witnesses, expenses incurred in the service of process, costs of publication of notices and such other charges as are authorized by the statutes of the state and, in addition thereto, court costs in the same amount as set by the state for offenses in District Court.
